Gorapada Bera
I am a Research Assistant Professor (2023-2026) at the Simons Center for Geometry and Physics at Stony Brook University working under the mentorship of Prof. Simon Donaldson.I completed my Ph.D. at the Institut für Mathematik at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin under the supervision of Prof. Thomas Walpuski, where my research was supported by the Simons Collaboration on Special Holonomy in Geometry, Analysis, and Physics.
Research area: My research area lies in differential geometry, mainly in the following topics:
Riemannian manifolds with special holonomy: G2-manifolds and Calabi-Yau manifolds
Calibrated submanifolds: associative submanifolds, special Lagrangian submanifolds and holomorphic curves
Gauge theory: generalized Seiberg-Witten monopoles
