Gorapada Bera

I am a Research Assistant Professor (postdoc) at the Simons Center for Geometry and Physics at Stony Brook University (2023-2026), mentored by Simon Donaldson. Previously, I did my Ph.D at the Institut für Mathematik at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin under the supervision of Thomas Walpuski, with research supported by the Simons Collaboration on Special Holonomy in Geometry, Analysis, and Physics.

Research area: My research area lies in differential geometry, mainly in the following topics:

Special holonomy manifolds: Calabi-Yau 3-folds and G2-manifolds
Calibrated submanifolds: holomorphic curves, special Lagrangian 3-folds, associative 3-folds and coassociative 4-folds
Gauge theory: generalized Seiberg-Witten monopoles and gauge theory on special holonomy manifolds
